Simple Exercises To Build Your Willpower Muscle To Be Mentally Strong

Posted By SGK

Hello and Welcome!

“You are given this life because you are strong enough to live it.” -   SGK

This article will help you to develop mental fitness in a scientific way.

Roy Baumeister, one of the leading researchers in this field, says that willpower is like a muscle. Exercising a muscle in the short term leads to its exhaustion. In the long term, though, exercising a muscle causes it to grow. In fact, there is some good evidence that exercising your willpower, though temporarily depleting, means that it will be stronger in the long run. So, push yourself. Exercise your willpower muscle to get more of it.

Willpower Exercise Examples:

  • Reverse walk.
  • Eating in left hand.
  • Solve a puzzle.
  • Watch a funny movie but resist the urge to laugh.
  • Watch a sad movie but resist the urge to cry.
  • Having only fruits for entire day.
  • 50 sit-ups a day.
  • Not watching TV for a week.
  • Practicing silence (Not speaking entire day with anyone).
  • Work on posture (Sitting in chair with both feet on the floor).
  • Carry something tempting (Example - chocolate but not eating).
  • Going to shopping mall not buying any items.
  • Taking new route to reach your home.
  • Shaving with your nondominant hand left or right
  • Using your nondominant hand for sending message.
  • Writing in left hand
  • Brushing in left hand
  • Cook new dish

Start with one exercise. Change the exercise every day. Doing it consistently for the next 30 days will definitely help you become mentally strong. It’s time to strengthen your willpower muscle.
